SCAN is a well-renowned, student print magazine of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Atlanta. This quarterly run periodic magazine is entirely managed by SCAD students who determine the theme and editorial content for each edition. The current spring issue 2021, is based on the theme “Contradiction”. This issue explores the very dichotomy and counter-intuitive nature of art and life.

The magazine spread brings to light the day-to-day conflict one encounters in one’s way of life and thinking. Each editorial highlights the different paradox that has seeped into various art forms and through that depicts the very nature of contradiction as a reflection of the human life of today. Particularly, the artist and the authors have used bold typography, illustrations, and complementary color schemes to justify the theme of “Contradictions” in all the stories that make up this magazine spread.
